What we need from you

Your chassis number, the 17-character VIN, and 1 document depending on your situation. Vehicle from 1996 or newer :

In Switzerland Registration certificate photo or scan

The Swiss registration certificate, grey. One photo is enough: the holder and the vehicle are shown together.

Abroad Registration certificate photo or scan

The document from the country of registration: Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I in Germany, carte grise in France, carta di circolazione in Italy. Photograph all sides that contain data.

Not yet registered Invoice or purchase contract photo or scan

The document must contain the chassis number (VIN) and your name: this proves to the manufacturer that the vehicle is yours. Garage invoice, sales contract or order form.

Everything is submitted online when you place your order. Your documents are encrypted upon receipt and stored outside the public website. First order? See the four-step process.

Who issues the Land Rover certificate of conformity (COC)

Land Rover belongs to the JLR group, like Jaguar.

Only the manufacturer can issue this document: no intermediary can produce or correct it. Our role is to prepare the file, handle the process and follow your order through to delivery.

The Land Rover certificate of conformity (COC) is generally available for vehicles first registered from 1996 onwards.

On this site, Land Rover is listed under "Passenger cars" (EU vehicle category M1). See all brands: Passenger cars.

The most common Land Rover models in Switzerland

The certificate of conformity (COC) is ordered vehicle by vehicle, from the chassis number. These are the Land Rover models most often registered in Switzerland, from most to least common:

  • Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
  • Land Rover Defender
  • Land Rover Range Rover Sport
  • Land Rover Range Rover Velar
  • Land Rover Discovery
  • Land Rover Freelander
  • Land Rover Range Rover

Ranking based on vehicles in circulation (SwissCarInfo data). Your model is not listed? The order works the same way: the chassis number is what counts.

Recognising a Land Rover chassis number

The first three characters of the chassis number (VIN) identify the manufacturer: this is the WMI code. One prefix is assigned to Land Rover in our database:

  • SAL

If your number starts with one of these prefixes, our check recognises the brand automatically. A different prefix does not mean the vehicle is excluded: some models are built by another manufacturer of the group. Check my chassis number.
