What we need from you
Your chassis number, the 17-character VIN, and 1 document depending on your situation. Vehicle from 1996 or newer :
The Swiss registration certificate, grey. One photo is enough: the holder and the vehicle are shown together.
The document from the country of registration: Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I in Germany, carte grise in France, carta di circolazione in Italy. Photograph all sides that contain data.
The document must contain the chassis number (VIN) and your name: this proves to the manufacturer that the vehicle is yours. Garage invoice, sales contract or order form.
Everything is submitted online when you place your order. Your documents are encrypted upon receipt and stored outside the public website. First order? See the four-step process.
Who issues the Citroën certificate of conformity (COC)
Citroën belongs to the Stellantis group, like Citroën Utilitaire, Peugeot, Peugeot Utilitaire, DS.
Only the manufacturer can issue this document: no intermediary can produce or correct it. Our role is to prepare the file, handle the process and follow your order through to delivery.
The Citroën certificate of conformity (COC) is generally available for vehicles first registered from 1996 onwards.
On this site, Citroën is listed under "Passenger cars" (EU vehicle category M1). See all brands: Passenger cars.
The most common Citroën models in Switzerland
The certificate of conformity (COC) is ordered vehicle by vehicle, from the chassis number. These are the Citroën models most often registered in Switzerland, from most to least common:

- Citroën Berlingo
- Citroën DS3
- Citroën Jumpy

Ranking based on vehicles in circulation (SwissCarInfo data). Your model is not listed? The order works the same way: the chassis number is what counts.
Recognising a Citroën chassis number
The first three characters of the chassis number (VIN) identify the manufacturer: this is the WMI code. 9 prefixes are assigned to Citroën in our database:
8BC9359BDLDCMR1VF7VFYVR7VS7
If your number starts with one of these prefixes, our check recognises the brand automatically. A different prefix does not mean the vehicle is excluded: some models are built by another manufacturer of the group. Check my chassis number.
