Who issues the Alfa Romeo certificate of conformity (COC)

Alfa Romeo belongs to the Stellantis group, like Citroën, Citroën Utilitaire, Peugeot, Peugeot Utilitaire.

Only the manufacturer can issue this document: no intermediary can produce or correct it. Our role is to prepare the file, handle the process and follow your order through to delivery.

The Alfa Romeo certificate of conformity (COC) is generally available for vehicles first registered from 1998 onwards.

On this site, Alfa Romeo is listed under "Passenger cars" (EU vehicle category M1). See all brands: Passenger cars.

The most common Alfa Romeo models in Switzerland

The certificate of conformity (COC) is ordered vehicle by vehicle, from the chassis number. These are the Alfa Romeo models most often registered in Switzerland, from most to least common:

  • Alfa Romeo Giulietta
  • Alfa Romeo Stelvio
  • Alfa Romeo Giulia
  • Alfa Romeo MiTo
  • Alfa Romeo Tonale
  • Alfa Romeo 159
  • Alfa Romeo 147
  • Alfa Romeo Junior
  • Alfa Romeo Spider
  • Alfa Romeo 156
  • Alfa Romeo 4C
  • Alfa Romeo Brera
  • Alfa Romeo GT Coupé
  • Alfa Romeo 166

Ranking based on vehicles in circulation (SwissCarInfo data). Your model is not listed? The order works the same way: the chassis number is what counts.

Recognising a Alfa Romeo chassis number

The first three characters of the chassis number (VIN) identify the manufacturer: this is the WMI code. 2 prefixes are assigned to Alfa Romeo in our database:

  • ZAA
  • ZAR

If your number starts with one of these prefixes, our check recognises the brand automatically. A different prefix does not mean the vehicle is excluded: some models are built by another manufacturer of the group. Check my chassis number.
